After an inexplicably good summer, 2015 seems like it’s so far an okay year for anime. It’s not terribly horrible like, say, 2010, and it’s certainly better than 2014, for what that’s worth. And this season does look pretty good, but I said the same thing somewhere on the webs back in Spring and we all know how that turned out. But that is in the past! Surely my optimism will not jinx this season!

Summer 2015 Preview

2015 continues to be eh in anime, overall. Winter was extremely disappointing while Spring was indeed good, but not quite that great like Fall 2014 was (although I miss that season mainly because it brought upon us GARO: The Animation). And because we crossed into Bizarro World apparently and none of us noticed, this summer does seem to be the season with the most potential this year, despite Summer usually being the shittiest season there is (let us not remember Summer 2010). What new spore of madness is this? Let’s find out!

April 2015 Roundup

vlcsnap-2015-05-01-11h22m21s823

After the disappointment of last season, we finally get some new shows. Will it break the terrible curse that Winter put upon 2015 in anime? Will it be as good as last Fall? I don’t know why the first show I picked up this season was a JC Staff adaptation of a light novel with a tediously long title, but it was the earliest show to come out because it seems most shows are now on the weekends. To be fair to the author, it’s a award winning light novel. To be fair to the medium of literature, a light novel award is like winning Less Painful Method to Die at the Nails and Flails Torture-off.

But I digress. Let’s dig into this, shall we?

February 2015 Roundup

kumji menacing

And so Winter 2015 wraps up its second month, and my opinion of this season takes a nosedive. Promising shows failed to deliver on their promise and shit shows became somehow shittier. But at the same time, good shows became even better, and some shit shows are trying. It’s not so much as this season sucking as much as there being a wide gap between shit shows and quality shows.

Let’s get this over with, shall we? (And yes, it’s organized from best to worst).

January 2015 Roundup

And so Winter 2015 wraps up its first month, and it’s already pretty clear who’s shit and who’s not shit. Spoiler alert: it’s mostly shit, as to be expected of a winter season. And as a narcissist asshole who thinks his opinions are worth shit blogger, I have pretty clear opinions by now. Guess who’s my favorite (hint: it named this blog).
