Oh man, it’s been a long time since I had a hatewatch (well, two seasons actually but that’s a long time for the Interwebs). I was hoping that Winter’s LN trio, whatever they were called, would be one of those. Alas, they were too dreadful to be hatewatched; rumours persist that the North Koreans are using them as torture devices for particularly tough POWs. And so, I was left with Seraph of the End in Spring and I was left with despair and anguish.
After the disappointment of last season, we finally get some new shows. Will it break the terrible curse that Winter put upon 2015 in anime? Will it be as good as last Fall? Will Wit Studio do a quality product once again? Will there be more quality fujoshi bait? Will people who eat pizza with ranch please stop doing that shit?
Seraph of the End begins with the extermination of all humanity via a mysterious virus that mysteriously only affects those 13 and older while vampires give a speech about how stupid humans are. If that were not enough, those children are then enslaved and then we are thrown some child prostitution metaphors before a dozen children are annihilated by vampires.
Seraph of the End is not a subtle series.
